About the course

The pattern is the foundation of every garment, and if you'd like to design or create clothes, you'll need to know your way around a pattern first. Hone your pattern cutting skills with a Intermediate Pattern Cutting course at Paston College.

For those of you who would like to develop your pattern cutting skills further, this course will teach you a varied range of pattern cutting techniques and explore a broader array of styles. You will be able to develop patterns from individual designs and specific sizing requirements, from the basic bodice blocks and individual tailored pattern blocks.

This course will expand on the basics to develop and adapt patterns to intricate, industry standard, exciting designs. You will explore different detailed styles of clothing and a variety of more advanced bodice shapes, Such as cowl necklines, rever and roll collars, jackets, pleats, further manipulations and styled finishes for individual tastes and sizing. Additionally you will be taught how to amend sizing alterations to fit personally.

Please note that courses may be cancelled if minimum numbers are not met. Please be aware that if you are no longer able to attend your course you will be offered an alternative date where available, however no refunds are available unless this course is cancelled by Paston College.
