Maths lecturers’ London Marathon challenge

Minimum: £5.00

Raising money for ASD Phoenix Purple students

Two maths lecturers from City College Norwich, Piers Arnold & Jonathan Cordle, are running the London Marathon on Sunday 22nd April to raise money for students on the college’s Phoenix Purple course which is designed for young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

The Phoenix Purple course is designed to help students learn valuable life skills to boost their confidence and independence with the aim of progressing on to further study. The money raised through Piers’ and Jonathan’s efforts will help to fund the students’ annual residential trip and end of year prom which is vital for giving these young people real world experiences and developing life skills. Many students have never stayed away from home before so it’s a chance for them to develop independence. Many also missed out on their school Prom so this gives them the opportunity to have the social experience in a safe accessible environment.

Without the extra funds, many students would not be able to afford to take part in these activities.
