During the sessions you will learn about:
• Tools used in crochet: hooks, thread, wool, finishing
• Reading following patterns and charts
• How to hold wool and hook
• Tension of work and impact on finished items size
• Blocking out and pressing to ensure finished work is stretched out to correct size

You will also learn a range of basic stitches:
• Chain Stitch used to start a crochet foundation
• Double Crochet
• Half Double Crochet
• Treble Crochet
• How to increase and decrease and combine stitches to make simple patterns

Once you have mastered stitches you will learn how to apply these into simple shaped granny squares, simple flowers and combine stitches to make borders.

On completion of this course you will have made some items to take away and use and depending on skill levels students will get a chance to make simple practice items. These can include a smart phone cover or tablet cover, flower brooch or hair slide, basic bag or cushion or maybe a teddy bear.

Please be aware that you may need to buy additional balls of wool.

Please note that courses may be cancelled if minimum numbers are not met. Please be aware that if you are no longer able to attend your course you will be offered an alternative date where available, however no refunds are available unless this course is cancelled by Paston College.
