CCN - Beginners Introduction to Sewing Skills

Get handy with the basics of sewing by enrolling on this sewing course for beginners. With a mixture of hand and machine work, you will have a variety of projects to showcase the skills and techniques learnt on the course.

This introduction to sewing will cover hand sewing and machine sewing techniques that will showcase by making simple accessory samples.

You will learn the following:
- Basics of a sewing machine which includes how to wind a bobbin and thread a machine. The use of feet and stitches, to make a sample pack of basic stitches and techniques.
- Pinning patterns, cutting and constructing fabric to make a complete item.
- Application of basic sewing techniques by hand and machine.
- Decorating and finishing touches
- Learn how to make a machine button hole

You will also make a range of useful accessories which may include a pin cushion, tote bag, bunting and a cushion. You will be asked to bring in fabric of your choice a ring binder with plastic inserts and a notepad and pen.
